The Martian by Andy Weir
A really good sci-fi thriller. Perhaps my only qualm comes from the monotonic “oh and then this bad thing happened” pacing of the novel. I love love love that the action of the novel comes from fairly realistic (and relatively banal) scenarios, but after awhile the compulsion to read further solely to find out “how will he get out of this one using science-y number crunching and swear words” waned. Really worth reading, really overly praised.
